Music workshop: Rain bar
Venue: Hugo Wolf's Birthday
Target Audience: Elementary School / 1st, 2nd Triad
Duration: 60 min
At a music workshop, children learn about an instrument from a foreign culture, how it works, the materials from which it is made and how they create sound. We also listen to the legend of the creation of rain from Asia, showing children the connection of different cultures around the world. Together, of course, we will also create the rain bars ourselves, a fun rhythmic instrument with a beautiful sound. A rain bar is an instrument that creates a rain-like sound and originates in South America. During the production, children learn about the usefulness of everyday objects for making instruments, learn about different ways of extracting sound from the resulting instrument, and test their musical-rhythmic abilities.
Let's meet the music!
Hugo Wolf's Birthday House and Slovenj Gradec Music School invite elementary and pre-school children to free music workshops that will take place on Saturdays during the school year at Hugo Wolf's Birthday House in Slovenj Gradec. Children will be familiarized with individual instruments, the music they play, and will of course try to play them themselves in individual thematic workshops. The workshops are a great opportunity for anyone considering enrolling in music school but not yet knowing which instrument to choose. They will meet everyone here and, together with the educators of the Slovenj Gradec School of Music, discover their hidden talents. The workshops offer children and their parents socializing with music, developing imagination and stimulating thought processes.
